Harden Your Installation & Configuration
I run Endbugflow in production. Not as a demo. Not for testing.
For real work.
So I audit config files every time (before) the first commit.
Check config.yaml, .env, and auth.json. Never let APIKEY, DBPASSWORD, or JWT_SECRET sit in version control. Encrypt them or use secrets managers. Git history is forever.
(And yes, I’ve seen devs push passwords to GitHub.)
Disable the default admin account during install. Not after. Not tomorrow.

Set up role-based access control right away. Give users only what they need. Not root.
Not even close.
Test TLS on every endpoint (not) just the web UI. Run this:

Lock Down the Stack. Before It Locks You Out
I run npm audit --audit-level high every time I pull Endbugflow’s repo. Not just once. Every time.
Because “high” severity isn’t theoretical (it’s) the Express.js < 4.18.2 bug that lets attackers hijack sessions. Same with pip list –outdated: if your Python deps are stale, you’re running known CVEs like Axios < 1.6.0 (CVE-2023-45857).

Proactive Monitoring: Stop Waiting for Breaks

I set up monitoring the hard way first. Then I fixed it.
You need logs from four places: auth attempts, webhook deliveries, config changes, and failed health checks. They’re usually in /var/log/endbugflow/ by default. Not /logs.
Not /data/logs. /var/log/endbugflow/. I’ve wasted hours chasing wrong paths.
Brute-force attacks show up as spikes in 401s and 403s. Here’s the Prometheus query I use:

Grafana makes it visual. But raw numbers catch things dashboards miss.
Slack alerts for “admin role assigned”? Yes. Email for “config file modified”?
Absolutely. Unusual outbound HTTP call? That one saved me last month.
You don’t need to touch Endbugflow’s source code to get audit logs. OpenTelemetry works as a sidecar. Drop it in.

I hardcoded a database password once. It lived in config.py. We shipped it to prod.
